On February 18, 2016, the Alpine Mountain Empire Chamber of Commerce hosted Career Day at Joan MacQueen Middle School in Alpine, CA.

Project Cornerstone was invited to give the keynote speech to the entire sixth grade about careers in the local construction aggregates industry.  Alyssa Burley spoke about various careers and the required education for those jobs.  She also emphasized the importance of doing well in math and science.  The San Diego County Rangers spoke to the seventh and eight grade students about careers in the county parks.

In addition to speaking to the sixth grade students, Project Cornerstone taught the sixth, seventh, and eight grade students about the industry at its booth.  Nearly 100 students made their own concrete stars, which they were able to take home.  Students were encouraged to ask questions about the industry and its careers.

After the event, students were required to share the information they learned about various careers with their families.
