Guest speaker Jim Madaffer from the California Transportation Commission spoke to the meeting attendees about the future outlook of transportation funding for San Diego County and the State of California.

He also touched on State Bill 1077 (DeSaulnier) which would create a pilot program in California that would tax drivers based on the number of miles traveled, instead of paying a tax at the gas pump.

Local construction aggregate producers and related professionals keep a close eye on transportation issues that could impact their businesses.

She presented the group with the Project Cornerstone Annual Report and Budget from the 2014-2015 year.

Included in the report was a breakdown of all the organization's educational and community outreach efforts.  Project Cornerstone reached an estimated 2,400 students, gave 19 presentations, performed 30 in-class activities, attended 5 conferences and 31 meetings, and organized 5 field trips.

Attendees were urged to renew their annual donations and support the Project Cornerstone 2nd Annual Golf Tournament on July 17, 2015 at Twin Oaks Golf Course in San Marcos.  There support allows Project Cornerstone to continue to reach community members about the importance of local construction aggregate resources.
